Good Shepherd Baptist Church

As Christians...

We believe there is one true, self-sufficient, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable God who made everything out of nothing. Three co-equal Persons—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—exist within the one God.

God created mankind to glorify and enjoy Him forever, but mankind rebelled, and we are now born sinners and unable to deliver ourselves from sin and its consequences—namely, death and eternal separation from God in hell.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who through the Holy Spirit was born to the virgin Mary. Fully God and fully man, He lived a sinless life and died for the sins of mankind. He will personally return to judge the living and the dead.

With other Evangelicals...

We believe that the Bible is God's authoritative and inerrant Word—necessary, sufficient, and clear for everything we must believe about God and everything God requires of us.

Saving sinners from death and hell is entirely the work of God: to the praise of His glorious grace and in love for sinners, God sent Jesus to shed His blood on the cross and take the punishment of sinners upon Himself. God graciously calls sinners to Himself and brings them to place their faith and confidence in Christ's work on their behalf. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone.

As Baptists...

We believe that the local congregation comprises believers who have made a credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ and have publicly declared that faith through baptism by immersion. God has blessed His church with leaders in every congregation, but the congregation's authority—subject to Scripture—rests with the congregation itself.

Our congregation has chosen to fellowship with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches as well as the Nebraska Association of Regular Baptist Churches, and we have benefited from this fellowship.
